CHALLENGE

Founded in 2000, our partner is a BaFin-licensed payment institution that specializes in payment software solutions for in-store, online, and offline trading. Their key products are purchase on account and debit with payment guarantee for online shops, as well as payment guaranteed credit card acceptance. Our partner also takes over the handling of customer card payments.

In 2018, they decided to grow their product by improving its features and architecture. They chose us Brightgrove as their new outsourcing vendor.

We had to complete the following tasks:
• Take over the full cycle of backend development, implementation, and support.
• Make the platform more scalable, reliable, prevent failures, and improve customer experience.
• Optimize and improve the existing architecture and functionality.
• Develop new innovative features and technical solutions for the product.

SOLUTION

We’ve set up a team of 3 senior backend engineers (PHP) in 1 week. We placed the team in our comfortable office in Kharkiv (Ukraine), providing the fully equipped workstations and all the needed infrastructure.

Our team adjusted to partner’s workflow and Scrum communication protocols. Based on the Scrum framework, our engineers deliver the results following 2-weeks sprints, regular planning sessions, and retrospectives.

The dedicated engineers upgrade and refactor the legacy functionality of the existing API, cover the development process with QA tests. Our engineers also write new modules, create new features for Smart Checkout Payment System, extend the existing functionality of the core system.

The customer fully manages and controls the team, and its engineers maintain an efficient Scrum communication process with the rest of the distributed team. Our Dedicated PM just supervises Brightgrove’s team health and productiveness.
